Just a reminder to everyone that this year it is the turn of the Methodist Church to host the annual Village Carol Service ... so the Choir will be 'de-camping' to the Chapel on Sunday 18th. December at 4p.m. with Alan taking over the organ for the event.
This is the "VILLAGE" Carol Service, so it's YOUR opportunity to raise your voices along with the Choir with all your favourite Carols.
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EVENT WITH YOUR USUAL ENTHUSIASM !!
Alan Dawe - Choir Master
5 November 2011
Following their successful Harvest Concert in aid of Shelter Box, the Choir is delighted to have been asked to sing at this year's 'turning on' of the Christmas Lights on December 1st.
There will be more Christmas Music in the village to follow as Alan, the Choir Master, will be on hand to play Christmas Favourites at the 'Xmas Fayre' on Dec. 3rd. and also at the Village Lunch Dec. 7th.
This year's Village Carol Service will be held at the Methodist Chapel at 4pm on Sunday Dec. 18th. and the Choir will be on hand to lead the village in singing all the old favourites.
Next year's 'secular' concert will be in May, as part of the St. Teath Arts Festival. Rehearsals will start in January, so if you fancy lending your voice to the growing throng, contact a member of the choir, or pop along on a Thursday night to the Parish Church.
Till next time a very early Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the Choir !!
Alan Dawe - Choir Master
28 August 2011
The Choir were very pleased to try out part of their new programme at the Community Bus Cream Tea Event last month and following a very successful performance during the Flower Festival for the visit of the Bishop of Truro are now back into rehearsal for their next event, which will be a Harvest Festival Concert with Supper on Saturday 8th. October.
This would seem a good opportunity to remind people that although primarily the Choir of the Parish Church, we welcome singers who would just like to join us for our secular concerts.
Choir rehearsals take place on a Thursday evening at the church from 7.00 pm for our spiritual music and from 7.45 pm till 9.00 for the "not so serious" stuff.

Churchyard Path Relaid
10 January 2011
The path across the churchyard from the lychgate has been relaid. Previously, grass tended to encroach on the gravel path, but this should be less of a problem with small granite sets forming the border of the path. It certainly looks a lot tidier.

2008 has proved to be another year of hard work and fun for us. As well as leading the hymn singing on Sunday mornings and performing a variety of anthems on special church occasions, we have sung at weddings, funerals and memorial services throughout the year.
In April, we sang in Truro Cathedral to aid our choirmaster and musical director, Dave Phippen, demonstrate the use of the computer to provide music in church. In July, we sang at the St Teath Flower Festival concert alongside the Wadebridge Male Voice Choir.
The crowning achievement of the year was supporting Johnny Cowling at his two Elvis Gospel concerts in Truro Cathedral, singing to over 850 people each night! We received much acclaim for our performance of five spirituals, and some found it hard to believe that we were "just a small church choir!"
As always, Christmas will be a very busy time for the choir, the highlight being our annual Christmas Concert, which will be on Saturday 20th December at 7.30 in St Teath Church, featuring seasonal music and audience participation. Entry is free and festive refreshments will be available after the concert. We hope that as many people as possible will join us to celebrate the joys of Christmas.
This year we have been pleased to welcome five new members, Megan, Gina, Denise, Dave and John, and we look forward to going from strength to strength next year.
