St Teath Parish Church Flower Festival 2011
Friday, Saturday and Sunday 29 - 31 July 2011.
Theme: 40 Years of Flowers.
For 40 years Peggy Crosley has organised all the flower arrangements for St. Teath Flower Festival, as well as creating her own floral masterpieces and keeping a detailed record of every event.
This year the Festival celebrated a ruby anniverary and, at a special Festival service with the Bishop of Truro, the Right Rev. Tim Thornton, a bouquet of red flowers was presented to Peggy by churchwardens Jean Nicholls and Yvonne Tew to say "thank you" for her dedication over the last four decades.
The first Flower Festival raised £100 for the upkeep of the church but this year the figure is expected to exceed £4,000. "We are delighted that the Flower Festival has been so successful, especially as this is such a special year, " said Yvonne Tew.
Each flower arrangement was based on a theme chosen from the last 40 years and the church hall was decorated with red balloons and fabrics for the occasion. The weekend ended with a concert by the Port Isaac Chorale.
