Parish Walk 2010

29 August 2010

In breezy, but sunny weather, 26 enthusiastic walkers with an age range of teenagers to about 70 (and a few dogs) started and finished in St Teath.

From The Square, we walked down Treroosal Road and made for Lower Tynes, through lanes and across the fields to National Trust land at Dannon Chapel. Here was the first real test of stamina to climb down and up again from the precipitous Tregragon Valley. At the top it was an easy walk to Tregragon Farm for welcome refreshments. The final 2 miles or so were via the valley again by an easier route to eventually approach St Teath through Trewennan on the B3267.

Gill and Eddie Jones skillfully planned another walk entirely within the parish, managing to avoid most busy roads. Hester Warman and Jen Tidd prepared a plentiful supply of delicious refreshments. Donations will go to local organisations.

If you would like to follow the route a map is downloadable in pdf format here.
